VeloFlex™ — The Complete Guide to GEL Cycling Gloves
VeloFlex™ — Complete Guide to GEL Cycling Gloves
Sizing, care, and usage tips to fully enjoy your shock-absorbing GEL gloves on all types of bikes.
VeloFlex™ are cycling gloves with shock-absorbing 3D GEL pads, a breathable mesh back, silicone grip on the palm, and an integrated sweat wipe on the thumb. Compatible with road bikes, mountain bikes, and spinning. Available from S to XXL to fit all body types.
Choosing Your Size
Small
Hand circumference 17-18 cm. Measure around your hand at the knuckles (without the thumb). If you are between sizes, take the next size up — gloves that are too tight are uncomfortable on long rides and can cause tingling.
Medium
Hand circumference 19-20 cm. The most common size for women. Also check finger length — VeloFlex™ are half-finger gloves (without fingertips) so length is less critical than for full-finger gloves.
Large
Hand circumference 21-22 cm. The most common size for men. The GEL pad should be positioned exactly on the contact area between the palm and the handlebars — check this positioning when trying them on.
Extra Large
Hand circumference 23-24 cm. For large hands or those preferring a looser fit.
Double Extra Large
Hand circumference 25 cm and up. For very large hands.
Usage According to Bike Type
Road Bike
Position the GEL on the contact area with the handlebar in the drops position (hands down). The silicone grip on the palm maintains your hold on the handlebar even with intense perspiration. The thumb's sweat wipe is invaluable during long summer rides.
Mountain Bike
On mountain bikes, vibrations and shocks are more significant — the 3D GEL plays an even more crucial role. The breathable mesh back prevents hands from overheating during intense climbs. The silicone grip ensures hold even on technical descents when hands get slippery.
Spinning / Home Trainer
Indoors, perspiration is more abundant — breathable mesh and the sweat wipe are essential. The silicone grip maintains hold on plastic handlebars, which are often slicker than road bike handlebars. Ideal for RunZen™ and home fitness sessions.
Care for VeloFlex™
Washing
Hand wash in cold water with a little mild soap after each ride. Do not machine wash — heat and agitation degrade the GEL and silicone grip. Rinse thoroughly and lay flat to air dry, never tumble dry.
Storage
Store your VeloFlex™ flat or slightly rolled, never crumpled or twisted — this would deform the GEL. Keep away from direct heat (not on a sunny windowsill). Well-preserved GEL lasts for several seasons.
